Who we are

Lee Printers is a general commercial printing company located in Cincinnati Ohio.  Our plant is located in the City of Sharonville which is a northern suburb of Cincinnati.  Located near the I-75 and I-275 interchange we are convenient to all of Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Southwest Ohio and Southeast Indiana. 

What we do

Being a general commercial printer means that our target audience is fulfilling the printing needs of the average business as well as the needs of larger corporations and individuals.  We are equipped for and experienced in producing a wide range of products and can provide all the necessary services needed to produce most printed products.  We specialize in short to medium run 4 color process printing as well as black & white and spot color printing. Our extensive bindery allows us the flexibility to put the finishing touches on virtually any project.  For more information on our abilities see our products page. The ability to consistently produce quality printed materials at reasonable prices is the cornerstone of our operation and we have been doing it since 1962.

What we don't do

We are not in the copy business, there are many copy stores, national chains and mom and pop shops, that provide excellent service and prices - we know, many of them are our best customers.  On the other hand we do not try to compete with the companies that print the Sears catalog or Time magazine. Though we produce a wide range of printed products we sometimes cannot provide the price/performance that is needed for every job.   Though it is rare when we are unable to meet your requirements, we can refer you to specialty printers who can better fulfill your needs.  We do this out of respect for our customers, our goal is to make your life easier, even if we have to send you to the competition! Our hope is that this respect for you will build a foundation of trust between us, upon which we can build a lasting relationship.

History

In 1962 our founder Erv Krieg purchased The Blumenthal-Hamilton Printing Company in Hamilton, Ohio. The company had been in operation since it was founded in 1905.  Shortly after the purchase the operation was moved from the old church building it occupied to an industrial site at the intersection of Millville and Edgewood Avenues.  The name was shortened to Hamilton Printing Company to reflect the change in ownership.  Over the years the company grew to occupy three of the buildings in the complex.  In 1971 the company incorporated under the name Lee Corp. but continued to operate under the Hamilton Printing moniker. 

In 1975 the Lee Corp. purchased the commercial printing operations of the Review Publishing Company located in Lockland, Ohio and continued operating it as a going concern.

In 1977 our present building on Mosteller Road was acquired and the plants in Hamilton and Lockland were combined into one at this location.  At this time we began doing business as Lee Printers.

Over the past nearly 40 years the Krieg family has continued to improve our company through investment in technology.  We have evolved from a small job shop, into a state-of-the-art facility specializing in 4 color process printing.  But this evolution has not caused us to lose site of the fine craft tradition that this company was founded upon.  It is the application of craftsmanship to modern technology that allows us to produce quality printed products.

Biographies

Erv and Edith Krieg

Erv began has printing career at the age of twelve when he assumed the operation of his brother's printing company The Krieg Press Company, located in the barn of the family home in Cheviot.  After graduating Cincinnati's Printing High School he married Edith Brug in 1941.  Prior to entering the Army in WWII, Erv worked as a Linotype operator and as a machinist. After serving his duty as a field machinist in the European theater he returned to work for Edith's father in the booming construction business.  In the early 1950's he decided to return to his first vocation, printing, by accepting a position with the Western Hills Publishing Company, publishers of the Western Hill Press. In only a few years he earned the position of Vice President and served on the board of directors.  In 1962 he left Western Hills Publishing and purchased the Blumenthal-Hamilton Printing Co.  Working together Erv and Edith built their business as well as raised their four children, Ron, Tom, Kathy (Faigle) and Lee. Though now both are retired, Erv still serves as Board Chairman and offers guidance gleaned from his years experience.  They continue to cherish their family which has grown to include 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Tom and Carol Krieg

Tom spent his much of his youth working with his mother and father in the family business. A member of the Oak Hills High School class of 1964, he had already established himself as an integral part of the operation when called to serve his country in 1966.  After serving a tour of duty in Vietnam, Tom returned to marry his high school sweetheart Carol Thueneman. Tom became company President and CEO in 1985 and has been responsible for daily operations since. Carol serves as Lee Corp's office manager.  Together they raised two children, Kelly (Bucheit) and Kevin both of whom work in the paper and printing industries.
